Host Terms

These Host Terms apply to you if you set up, publish or administer a league on My FPL Mini-League. They sit on top of the Terms of Service, which apply to everyone. Where the two conflict on a host matter, these terms take precedence.

The Platform is operated by Common Room Ventures Private Limited (CIN U32409KA2026PTC222161), a company incorporated in India with its registered office at 301/302, 3rd Floor, Saket Callipolis, Sarjapur Main Rd, Doddakannelli, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560035 ("we", "us", "our"). My FPL Mini-League is a product operated by that company.

"You" means the host. "Members" means the people in your league, whether or not they have created an account with us.

1. What we do and what you do

You run the competition. We provide the tools.

We are not the organiser of your league. We do not set your prizes, collect your entry fees, hold your prize pool, decide your rules, or settle with your members. You do all of that, and you do it directly with your members.

What we provide is software: we read your league's public data from the Fantasy Premier League API, calculate standings and race positions against the prize structure you configure, generate a public league page and shareable cards, and send you and (on some plans) your members messages about your league.

This division matters, and the rest of these terms follow from it.

1.1 We never hold money

We do not collect, hold, escrow, transfer or disburse entry fees or prize money at any point, in any amount, in any currency. We are not a payment processor, payment gateway, escrow agent or financial intermediary in relation to your league.

The Platform is a shared ledger, in the way a bill-splitting app is a shared ledger. You enter a total pot figure. We calculate what each prize in your structure is worth from that figure, and show who is due what. That is the whole of our involvement with money.

Everything else happens away from the Platform and without us: you collect entry fees however you already collect them, and you pay winners however you already pay them. We have no visibility of what has actually been collected or paid. The only money figure we hold is the pot total you typed in, plus what our calculation produces from it.

The ledger (who owes what, who has won what, what remains in play) is a record-keeping and display feature only. It does not represent funds held by us, owed by us, or under our control. Marking an amount "settled" is a note you make for your own convenience. It moves no money.

The only money that flows to us is your plan payment, which buys access to the software. That is a separate matter, covered in §7.

2. Your authority over the league

When you set up a league, you confirm that:

• You have the authority to administer it. You are the league's administrator on the Fantasy Premier League platform, or you have the express permission of the person who is.

• You have the standing to represent it. You are entitled to publish a page about the league, describe its members, and communicate with them about it.

• You accept responsibility for it. If someone in the league objects to it being on the Platform, you will deal with that, and you will tell us if it needs our action.

We do not verify any of this. Nothing in the Platform checks whether you actually run the league you are setting up. The confirmations above are what stand behind it, which is why they matter and why the responsibility for them is yours.

If you set up a league you have no authority over, you are in breach of these terms, and §11 applies.

3. Your members' data

This is the part hosts most often overlook, so it is stated plainly.

When you enter a league ID, we retrieve that league's roster from the Fantasy Premier League API. That roster includes the display name, team name, and performance record of every member of the league, including people who have never used My FPL Mini-League, have no account with us, and have not agreed to anything.

When you publish your league page, that information becomes publicly accessible on the internet to anyone with the link, and may be indexed, cached, shared, and unfurled into previews on messaging platforms.

You therefore agree that:

• You will tell your members. Before or promptly after publishing, you will let your league know that the league page exists, that it is public, and where to find it. You are the person who has a relationship with them; we do not.

• You will pass on objections. If a member asks to come off the public page, you will action it using the tools we provide — which anonymise their row rather than delete it, so the standings stay correct — or tell them how to contact us directly at [email protected], or both.

• You will not add a league you have no connection to. Entering the league ID of a competition you are not part of, in order to publish other people's data, is a serious breach and we will remove the page.

We also provide a route for anyone (including people with no account) to ask us directly about data we hold about them and to have their row anonymised. See Public League Pages and Your Data. Anonymising at our end does not remove your obligations under this section.

Our lawful basis for holding and publishing roster data for people who have not signed up is legitimate interests, set out in the Privacy Policy §6. It depends on the objection route staying open and being honoured, which is why §3 puts a matching obligation on you.

One limit you should understand before you publish, so that you can answer if a member asks: anonymising works going forward. League pages are published in versions, and an older version stays retrievable by anyone holding its direct address until it is deleted at the end of the following season. Removing someone from the current page does not pull it out of copies already shared.

4. Prizes

4.1 You design them, you own them

You choose the prize structure: what races run, what each is worth, who wins. The Platform helps you build it and calculates outcomes from FPL data, but the structure and its consequences are yours.

4.2 Prize modes

Prizes may be denominated as money, as coins (an in-product score with no monetary value), or as badges (recognition only). Coins and badges have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for anything, and are not redeemable. You choose the mode.

If you choose money, you choose the currency. We do not convert, hold, or guarantee any amount.

4.3 You are responsible for the lawfulness of your prize scheme

Competitions involving entry fees and money prizes are regulated differently in different places, and in some places they are restricted or prohibited outright. In India this varies by state as well as nationally.

It is your responsibility to know whether your prize scheme is lawful for you and for your members, where each of you is located, and not to run it if it is not. Because the money is yours and your members' throughout, and never ours, how it is treated is a matter for you.

We do not gate money mode by territory. We do not assess your scheme, do not advise on it, and do not warrant that any configuration is lawful anywhere. We are not in a position to: we cannot see what you collect, we do not know where every member is, and we are not a party to the arrangement.

If you are not certain of the position where you are, run the league on coins or badges. Those modes exist for exactly this reason and involve no money pool at all.

4.4 Settlement

Collecting entry fees and paying out prizes happens entirely between you and your members, outside the Platform. We have no visibility of it and no involvement in it.

If a member does not pay, or you do not pay a winner, that is a dispute between you and them. We cannot arbitrate it, cannot compel payment, cannot reverse anything, and will not take sides. If you close a league or stop using the Platform with amounts outstanding, those obligations remain yours.

5. Branding and content you upload

On plans that include it, you can upload a logo and a banner, choose an accent colour, and name your league.

You confirm that anything you upload or enter is yours to use, or that you have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, resize, and display that content on your league page, in generated cards, and in link previews, for as long as your page is published, and for the purpose of running the Platform. This licence ends when you remove the content or your page is unpublished, except for copies already distributed by you or your members and any versions retained under §3.

You must not upload or use anything that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive, or that impersonates a person or organisation, including any suggestion that your league is affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Premier League, Fantasy Premier League, or us beyond your actual use of the Platform. The Acceptable Use Policy applies in full and this list does not narrow it.

We may remove content that breaches this section, and may unpublish a page rather than remove content piecemeal where that is the practical remedy.

6. Messaging your members

On plans that include member messaging, we will send messages to members who have opted in, on your behalf and about your league.

You agree that:

• You will not use it for anything other than your league. No advertising for third parties, no promotion of unrelated products or services, no political or campaigning content, no content unrelated to the competition.

• You will respect opt-outs. A member who opts out, or who replies STOP, stops receiving messages. You will not attempt to route around that by other means or re-add them.

• You will stay within your plan's limits. Message allowances exist for a reason, including the rules of the underlying messaging networks.

• You accept that we may refuse or stop a send. Where a message would breach these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or the rules of the messaging network, we may decline to send it or stop it mid-flight.

Broadcast composition is restricted to the formats we provide. This is deliberate: it keeps sends within what the messaging networks permit.

Messages we send to you (such as your gameweek recap) are yours to forward as you see fit. Once you forward something, how it travels is up to you, and the recipients are your contacts, not ours. Details of message types, consent and opt-out are in the Messaging Consent document.

7. Plans and payment

Plans are described on our pricing page, which is the authoritative statement of what each one costs and includes. These terms deliberately do not repeat prices or plan names, so that the two can never disagree. What is on the pricing page at the moment you buy is what you are contracting for.

7.1 How plans work

• Plans are bought per season, not per month. We charge one season at a time and never take payment for more than the season ahead.

• Some features are gated by plan, and some by league size. If your league grows beyond your plan's limit, you will need to move up to keep it published.

• You can build before you pay. Set your league up, design your prizes, and see how it looks without paying. Payment is required to publish it and to keep it published. Free plans never pay at all.

• Plan payments buy access to the software. They are never entry fees, never prize money, and are never held on anyone's behalf.

7.2 Your plan does not renew

You buy a season, once. There is no automatic renewal, nothing is charged to you without you choosing it, and there is no subscription to remember to cancel. When the season ends, the plan ends. To run your league again the following season, you buy it again.

If we ever introduce renewing plans, we will tell you before it applies to you and give the notice the law where you live requires. Until then there is no renewal notice period, because there is no renewal.

Where we have held your price for a stated number of seasons, a repurchase inside that period is at the held price. See §7.3.

7.3 Price commitments

Where we have promised you a held price for a stated number of seasons (as we have to founding creators) we will honour it for that period, at the plan you bought. If we discontinue or materially change that plan within the period, we will offer you the closest equivalent at the held price, or a pro-rata refund of any unused season if you would rather stop.

Where we have given you access at no charge or at a reduced rate, the arrangement is as separately agreed with you in writing. The rest of these terms apply unchanged.

7.4 Payment mechanics

Payment is taken by a third-party payment provider, not by us directly. We never see or store your full card number.

Your card or bank statement will show "Common Room Ventures", which is the company behind My FPL Mini-League. If you do not recognise a charge, contact us before raising a chargeback and we will identify it for you.

8. Publishing and unpublishing

Your league page is not public until you publish it. Once published, it is accessible to anyone with the link. Links are shareable and guessable in principle, so treat publication as making the page fully public.

You can unpublish at any time. Unpublishing removes the page from public access going forward. It does not retrieve copies already shared, screenshots taken, previews cached by messaging platforms, or content indexed by third parties.

We may unpublish a page where these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy or the Terms of Service are breached, where we are required to, or where a plan lapses. Where the reason allows it, we will tell you first.

9. Our data and yours

Standings, scores and squad information come from the Fantasy Premier League API, which is operated by a third party. We do not control it, do not guarantee it, and are not responsible for it being wrong, delayed or unavailable. Race outcomes calculated from it inherit those limitations.

If a race resolves incorrectly because the underlying data was wrong, we will correct the calculation where we can. We will not compensate for prize decisions you have already acted on. Check outcomes before you pay anyone.

10. Liability between us

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law: we are not liable for your prize scheme, your settlement with members, disputes within your league, the lawfulness of your competition, the accuracy of third-party data, or any loss of profit, goodwill, or opportunity. Our total liability to you in connection with the Platform is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

You are responsible for, and will hold us harmless against, claims arising from your breach of these terms, in particular from publishing a league you had no authority over, running a prize scheme that was unlawful where you or your members are, or content you uploaded.

The Terms of Service liability provisions apply in addition and are not narrowed by this section.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to host features, unpublish your pages, or close your account where you breach these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy or the Terms of Service; where we are required to by law; or where continuing would expose us or your members to harm.

Where the circumstances allow, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it. Where they do not (for example where members' data or safety is at stake) we may act first and explain afterwards.

You can stop being a host at any time by unpublishing your leagues and closing your account. Amounts you owe your members are unaffected by this, as are obligations under §3, §5 and §10, which survive.

12. Changes

We may change these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will give you reasonable notice by email or in the Platform before it takes effect. Continuing to use host features after that means you accept the change. If you do not accept it, unpublish your leagues and stop using those features.

The version and effective date of the current terms are shown at the foot of this page.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.

If you are a consumer resident outside India, this does not remove any right you have under the law of your own country to bring proceedings there, or the protection of mandatory consumer law that applies to you.

14. Contact

We acknowledge grievances within 24 hours of receipt and aim to resolve them within 15 days, in line with the Information Technology Rules, 2011. Complaints raised as a consumer under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 are acknowledged within 48 hours and redressed within one month.
