Refund and Cancellation Policy

Refund and Cancellation Policy
This policy covers money you pay us for a plan. It is part of the Terms of Service and the Host Terms.
The Platform is operated by Common Room Ventures Private Limited (CIN U32409KA2026PTC222161), Bengaluru, India. We are the seller.
1. First, the thing people ask about most
If you are looking for a refund of a league entry fee, or a prize you are owed, this is not the right place.
We never collect, hold or pay out entry fees or prize money. Not at any point, in any amount, in any currency. The Platform records what your league's prize structure comes to; the money itself is collected and settled between the host and the members, away from us. We cannot see what has been collected and we cannot move any of it.
So:
Entry fee refunds are between you and your league host. Ask them.
Prizes you are owed are between you and your league host. Ask them.
We cannot pay you, reverse anything, or compel anyone to pay you, and we cannot arbitrate a disagreement about it.
If your host has stopped responding, we are sorry, and we still cannot help with the money. It was never ours to move.
The rest of this policy is about your plan payment to us, which is a separate thing entirely.
2. There is nothing to cancel
Plans do not renew. You buy a season, once. When that season ends, the plan ends.
There is no subscription running in the background, nothing is charged to you automatically, and you do not need to remember to cancel anything before a date. If you want to run your league again next season, you buy it again, on purpose.
2.1 What happens at the end of the season
You keep everything you paid for, for the whole season. When it ends, your league page is unpublished and your league reverts to the free plan if it fits within the free plan's limits.
There is no cancellation fee and no notice period, because there is nothing to give notice of.
2.2 If we ever change this
If we introduce renewing plans, we will tell you before it applies to you, and we will give the notice the law where you live requires. We would rather add that when it is real than write a promise about a thing that does not exist.
2.3 Changing your mind after you buy
That is a refund question, not a cancellation one. See §3.
3. Refunds
3.1 The 14-day window
You can have a full refund for any reason within 14 days of paying us. Email [email protected] and we will refund you. We will not ask you to justify it.
It applies to every purchase, including buying a season again after a previous one. It is deliberately simple: we would rather refund someone quickly than argue about whether a right applies.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. Nothing in this policy reduces that right, and where the statutory position is more generous than what is written here, the statutory position wins.
3.2 After 14 days
Plans are bought per season, and after the 14-day window we do not generally refund part of a season. What you can always do is cancel, so that you are not charged for the next one.
We will still refund outside the window where it is fair to do so, including if:
we took a payment you did not authorise, or charged you twice;
we failed to give you what you paid for for a sustained period, and could not put it right;
we materially reduced or withdrew a feature you bought the plan for, mid-season;
we discontinued or materially changed your plan inside a price-lock period we promised you (see Host Terms §7.3).
Ask. We would rather look at it than have you raise a chargeback.
3.3 What is not refundable
Anything to do with league prize money or entry fees. See §1.
A season you have already used, outside the circumstances in §3.2.
Payments made by someone else on your behalf, unless they ask.
3.4 If we cancel your plan
If we suspend or close your account because you have breached the Terms of Service, the Host Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, we do not refund the remainder of the season.
If we close your account for any other reason, or we stop offering the service, we refund the unused part of your season pro rata.
4. Consumers in India
If you are a consumer in India, this policy operates alongside the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and does not limit your rights under them.
Complaints are acknowledged within 48 hours and redressed within one month. Our Grievance Officer is:
Shashwat Nandan, Co-Founder & Director
[email protected]
5. How to ask for a refund
Email [email protected] with the email address on your account and roughly when you paid. That is enough for us to find it.
We respond within 5 working days and, where we agree a refund, issue it within 10 working days of agreeing. Refunds go back to the original payment method. How long it then takes to appear is down to your bank or card issuer, and is usually a few working days more.
If we say no, we will tell you why, and you can escalate it to our Grievance Officer.
6. Chargebacks
Please talk to us before raising a chargeback. Almost every chargeback we would expect to see is either a payment someone did not recognise or a refund we would have given anyway, and both are faster to fix directly.
Your statement will show Common Room Ventures, not My FPL Mini-League. That is the company behind the product, and it is the single most likely reason a charge looks unfamiliar.
We may suspend an account with an unresolved chargeback until it is settled.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. The version that applies to a payment is the one in force when you made it. Material changes will be notified before they take effect.
