Messaging Consent

This document explains every message My FPL Mini-League may send you on WhatsApp, how you consented to it, and how to stop it. It supplements the Privacy Policy.

The Platform is operated by Common Room Ventures Private Limited (CIN U32409KA2026PTC222161), Bengaluru, India.

Nothing here is sent without an opt-in, and you can stop everything at any time. The three ways to stop are in §5.

Consent has two layers, and both must be satisfied before a message is sent.

Layer 1: your phone number. A single switch covering every message we might send you on that number, across every league. Turning this off stops everything, everywhere, immediately.

Layer 2: per league, per message type. Within a league you belong to, you choose which kinds of message you want. Consent given for one league does not carry to another, and consent to one message type does not imply another.

We record when each consent was given and when it was withdrawn.

Consent is asked for at the point it becomes relevant: when you join a league by claiming your team, or when you enable a message type in your profile. It is never bundled into account creation, and it is never a condition of using the Platform.

2. Messages sent to hosts

If you run a league, these go to you. They are about your own league.

MessageWhenContent
Gameweek recapAfter each gameweek is verifiedA ping telling you your recap card is ready, with the card image, so you can forward it to your league
Insight cardsAbout a day after a gameweek is verifiedNotable things that happened in your league, as shareable cards

These are sent to you, not to your members. Whether you forward them, and to whom, is entirely your choice. Once you forward something into a group chat, that message is yours: we are not in that conversation, we cannot see it, and we do not know who received it.

We do not place a bot in any group chat, and we do not join any group. We send to you directly, and you decide what happens next.

Which of these you receive depends on your plan. See the pricing page.

3. Messages sent to members

If you are a member of a league, these are the messages you may opt into. They come from us, on behalf of your league host, and they are always about that league.

Message typeWhat it isTypical frequency
Deadline remindersA nudge before the gameweek deadline, so you do not miss it. Skipped if you have already made your transfersUp to twice per gameweek, around 24 hours and 90 minutes before the deadline
League updatesBroadcasts from your league host: going live, shout-outs, milestones, pollsLimited by your league host's plan allowance

Availability depends on your league host's plan. Some leagues do not have member messaging at all. In those, the host forwards things to the group manually instead, and you will receive nothing directly from us.

Hosts cannot write free-form broadcast text. They choose from formats we provide. This keeps sends within what the messaging networks allow, and keeps them recognisable as league messages.

4. What we will never do

  • Send you marketing for anything that is not your league

  • Send you third-party advertising, or sell your number to anyone

  • Send you messages about a league you have not joined

  • Ignore an opt-out, or ask you to opt in again after you have opted out

  • Add you to a group chat

  • Make consent to messages a condition of using the Platform

5. How to stop messages

Any one of these works. You never have to give a reason.

  1. In the Platform. Turn the message type off for that league, or turn off messaging entirely, in your profile settings. Takes effect immediately.

  2. Reply STOP to any message you receive from us. This stops all messages to that number, across every league, immediately.

  3. Email [email protected] with the subject "Messaging Opt-Out", from the address on your account or telling us the number concerned. We will action it and confirm.

Opting out of messages does not close your account, remove you from your league, or affect your league page.

Messages that are not marketing (for example a security notice about your account, or a message we must legally send) may still be sent by email. Those are not covered by this opt-out because they are not promotional.

6. Who sends the messages

We send messages over the WhatsApp Business Platform, operated by Meta, using Meta's own delivery service directly. Meta processes your phone number, the message content and delivery status in order to deliver the message, under its own terms. Your use of WhatsApp itself is governed by your agreement with Meta, not with us.

Message templates used for WhatsApp are pre-approved by Meta before they can be sent. This is why message wording is fixed rather than freely composed.

WhatsApp is the only channel we send on. We do not send SMS.

Standard message and data rates from your mobile operator may apply. We do not charge you for messages.

7. What we keep, and for how long

We keep a record of the messages we have sent you (the message type, the time, the delivery status, and the content sent) so that we can prove consent, avoid sending duplicates, respect frequency limits, and investigate failures.

We keep your consent record (what you opted into, for which league, and when you opted in or out) for as long as you have an account, and afterwards where we need it to show that an opt-out was honoured.

Message logs are kept for 12 months, then deleted. Consent records are kept as described above.

Full schedule: Data Retention and Deletion.

8. Your rights

You can ask us what messaging data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. How to do that, and the rights you have, are in the Privacy Policy.

Get league updates on WhatsApp

Deadline reminders and updates from {league name}. Sent by My FPL Mini-League on your league host's behalf, over the WhatsApp Business Platform. Stop any time by turning this off, replying STOP, or emailing [email protected]. Message rates may apply. What you'll get

A.2 Expanded, shown on "What you'll get"

What you will receive

My FPL Mini-League is operated by Common Room Ventures Private Limited. If you opt in, we will send you:

  • Deadline reminders. Before each gameweek deadline, so you do not miss it. Skipped if you have already made your transfers. Up to twice a gameweek.

  • League updates. Messages from your league host about {league name}: going live, shout-outs, milestones and polls. How many depends on your league host's plan.

This applies to {league name} only. Joining another league asks you separately.

We will never send you marketing, share your number with advertisers, add you to a group chat, or message you about a league you have not joined.

To stop: turn this off here, reply STOP to any message, or email [email protected]. Any of the three stops messages immediately, and STOP stops them for every league.

Messages are delivered over Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta processes your number, message content and delivery status to deliver the message under its own terms. Standard message and data rates may apply.
